Benefits & Reasons to Install a Gas Fireplace

May 21, 2019

If you’re looking to have a new fireplace installed in your house, you should consider all the options at hand. Today, we want to cover gas fireplaces and why they might be a great fit for your home. Explore some of the reasons why gas fireplaces have become so popular!

1. Easy & Convenient

If you want a fireplace but aren’t looking for all the hassle that comes with wood, gas might be the best choice for you. Starting the fire is as easy as pushing a button and there are newer models available with Anderson that come with a remote. That means, no going outside to fetch wood and manually starting a fire!

2. Safety:

In another comparison to wood fireplaces, gas takes the cake in terms of safety. With real wood burning fireplaces, you need to be extremely cautious of potential sparks and embers coming off the fire.

3. Easy of Maintenance:

As you could imagine, cleaning up a wood burning fireplace takes a little more work than a gas fireplace. With a gas fireplace, a yearly inspection and cleaning is all it takes to keep it in tip-top working order.

4. Installation:

Gas fireplaces are usually easier to install than wood burning fireplaces because they don’t need a full chimney to vent out all the smoke. All a gas fireplace needs is a vent that goes outside.

5. Heating Source

A lot of people use gas fireplaces as a heating source during the winter. While, yes, wood burning fireplaces can keep a house warm, gas fireplaces are much easier to control.
